Blacksmith a Bottle Opener
Nick Ireys, Saturday 3pm & 5pm - Hillside
Students will learn basic blacksmithing skills using the hammer and the anvil. Participants will get the chance to make a bottle opener from scratch. We will be using ancient techniques to make a modern useful object.
etal is one of the strongest materials used by humans. In this class we will be taking the material and using heat and power to transform it into a useable bottle opener. Participants will have the chance to learn the ancient techniques of the blacksmith. In just 15 or 20 minutes a student could have their own hand made bottle opener that could last the rest of their lives. This is a fun and quick project that shows people that metal isn't always a hard unmovable material but when heated it is soft like clay and can be massaged into whatever shape can be imagined.
