Do you like Setu Tribe? Join Geri Omni in this Setu Tribe Movement Workshop to learn about the origin of the Setu Tribe movements as well as have the opportunity to create and share your own original movement!!
Warrior Goddess, Connection, Fire Lotus, Men At Work... just a few of the movements created by Setu Tribe, a group of evolving and supportive women in the PEX community who offer their tribal dance of pivotal moments to the Effigy audience. Learn the stories behind these movements and others in the Setu Tribe Movement Workshop with the Tribe's founder, Geri Omni, and other Tribe Sisters. Participants will learn and embody the actual movements that will be performed at The Effigy Burn on Saturday night. In addition, some participants will be given the opportunity to share their story and create their own original movement. This is going be lovely and likely, memorable. Come. <3
Biography
Geri Omni is a multi-faceted artist and teacher. Lyricist, Yoga teacher, musician, choreographer, fire performer, dance instructor.... these are the staples of Geri's passions and professions. She wears many hats and fervently dons each one. Her education continues into infinity and has included schlorships to The University of The Arts, PhilaDanco, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She trained, performed, choreographed, wrote and directed shows with ArcheDream for HUMANKIND. She Choreographs for Golden Crown New Years Brigade. Her past and current choreography continues to win various awards at dance competitions on the East Coast and has been featured in music videos for Philly based band, Sunshine Superman PA. Geri Omni currently performs with groups Lux Arati and The Femme-myninstques in Philadelphia. Combine all of this and more with being the founder of the growing sisterhood known as Setu Tribe, and it may seem our gal has a lot on her plate; this is the way she likes it. It is all the same to her because her most treasured passions are sharing and connecting. And with all of these projects continually moving, Geri gets to do what she loves. every. single. day.
