Enjoy the rich percussive rhythms from Brazil! Come drum, sing and dance with us.

Learn how to play several rhythms from different parts of Brazil and be part of the PEX Carnival Parade.

Biography

Xande was born and raised in Sao Paulo Brazil. He migrated to New York when he was 20 years old. There he started playing for dance studios which progressed to touring with samba schools in Japan and Korea. He created a trio of percussionists called Batukis.

Soon he began to play with various Brazilian pop bands, African drum ensembles, dance troupes, and theatrical productions in NY and Miami.

In 2001 he moved to Philadelphia, when he started recording his first Album LUZ.
While working on his second album Xande broadened his repertoire by accepting a position as Director of Music for Hey, You!, a company that creates programs to help children with Attention Deficit Disorder complete life tasks in the home environment.

Xande teaches drums to adults and children of all levels: he provides schools with different programs, like recycling and instrument making.

He will be releasing his next album, "Celebrate", this coming Summer.
