The Bayt

Meso Creso - Washington, DC

By Meso Creso

Meso Creso’s tent (bayt) is an extension of our mission—to promote cultural awareness, inspires creativity without boundaries, social consciousness and innovation and provides a place for people to find their inner brightness and light.  The bayt not only provides a physical shelter.  The repurposed sailboat sails represent the freethinking nature and exploratory spirit of our camp, while the eclectic nature of our décor reflecting an openness to all cultures and lifestyles. The new bayt will incorporate recycled sales, utilize a sailboat mast as a center pole, have a high weatherproof ceiling, use bamboo for side poles, incorporate safety stake lighting art, and host artistic endeavors the camp has garnered a reputation for doing well in the past, such as: VJ and DJ art, environmental night and day décor, a full sound system and dance floor, and an afternoon workshop space for yoga, open mics and other forms of expression.
