Orisha Love Songs

Shawn Hennessey

Saturday, 5pm @ The Lake

Orisha Love Songs with Shawn Hennessey shares with you an Afro-Cuban Tratado, grouping of songs for a particular Orisha. Participants will sing these songs at the Effigy Burn over live drumming.

These words and melodies have been sung by millions of people over generations, across oceans, under brutal conditions. They have survived in the hearts and minds of the international Yoruba community, but most importantly they lasted because they were sounded. These songs were born of man and womankind, and as they developed they slowly connected and changed, just like any living thing. They are on a path, a path that has led to you, and now we are connected. Orisha Love Songs with Shawn Hennessey
