Some Like it Hot - Aerial Silks Beginner/ Intermediate Strength Conditioning & Flow

Rachel Rubin & Mary Wood

Saturday, 3pm @ The Aviary

Designed for advanced beginners, this workshop provides a floor conditioning routine and an inversion focused sequence. Must be able to invert to participate! We aim to both expand vocabulary and polish form for those ripped beginners. Please dress appropriately for silk.

Inversion and Conditioning Class

Working from the ground up, there will be a climb, pose, drop, and descent, all incorporating inversions. Additionally, we will be warming up with strength conditioning on the ground. We welcome all levels to participate in this earlier segment. Inversions are a MUST for those interested in the sequencing on silk. We aim to both expand vocabulary and polish form for those ripped beginners. Please dress appropriately for silk-- if you meet requirements, you know what we mean :)

Biography

Mary has been a large inspiration in the Philadelphia aerial community. She has graced us with her strength and ferocity for the last few years as an instructor here at Pex and throughout the northeast. She also practices side show circus arts and is freak bendy.

Rachel took flight for the first time here at Pex four years ago. Ever since she has made it a mission to share this passion and help others find their inner strength. She recently returned from Thailand where she shared circus arts with refugee youth and continues to utilize the gifts of circus as a therapeutic tool.

The ladies strive to continue the development of the aerial community within Philly!!
