Dan Kiselev – Poetry / Live Painting

Presented by Daniel Kiselev
My name is Dan Kiselev, and most folks know me as a visual artist, but poetry is something that has been a part of my life since early childhood. I started writing poems when I was seven, when my family still lived in the Soviet Union. I moved to the States at the age of 13 and in the process of learning English I lost my ability to compose poetry in Russian. I’m still fluent in that language, but I can’t dream in Russian anymore, and apparently that’s what it takes to be a poet in any given tongue. It took me a long time to really dream in English, but now that I have, I would love to share my poetry. Catch Dan's poetry reading on Saturday at 5pm and live painting throughout the weekend.
